Hailed as “ambitious, forward-thinking, and undeniably talented” (XLR8R), Brooklyn-based producer Shakeyface is someone “you’ll want to keep tabs on” (URB). Shakeyface creates a unique blend of leftfield electronics and hip-hop with an indie-rock sensibility, his songs are “adventurous soundscapes” with “thick, dirty beats” (All Music).
Shakeyface’s debut full length, Bicycle Day Boogaloo, was released in 2006 on It’s Bananas, the label where “Everything We Do Is Bananas”. Funk MC’s, a funk/hip-hop blend mixtape, is the party rocking companion to Bicycle Day Boogaloo. Previously released are an EP, Puddle Jumping During A Monsoon on Belgium’s Quatermass and several compilation appearances. Shakeyface official remixes include UNKLE feat. Ian Brown & Mani from Stone Roses – “Reign” and Coldcut feat. Robert Owen – “Walk a Mile”, with too many unofficial remixes to count.
Shakeyface also DJ’s on the regular, serving up a special Shakey blend of crunked-up hip-hop, deep funk, leftfield electronics and Shakeyface originals alongside the likes of ?uestlove, Danger Mouse, Prefuse 73, Moby, El-P, Plaid, Eliot Lipp, Boozoo Bajou, Tommy Sunshine, Funkstorung, Low Budget and Diplo (Hollertronix), Fat Jon & Pase Rock (Five Deez), Beans, Rich Medina, Kudu, Sa-Ra and many others
